About Us

Mummert Sign Company was established in 1996 by owner Marty Mummert.  It was his desire to create work by hand and not from a computer that propelled  Marty into a world full of imagination and fun.  After receiving a favorable response at his first trade show Marty quickly out grew his work area in the basement of his home.  With the quick success of Mummert Sign Company and Marty’s desire to have an art studio the business was forced to move…which brings us to our current location.  After purchasing the property there was plenty of work to be done!  Because of Marty’s meticulous design and attention to detail, a plain cinder block building with an attached warehouse was renovated into a beautiful art deco studio where he can now feature his custom work.

Mummert’s line of  signs have been featured in magazines such as Country Living, Cottage Living and Better Homes and Gardens.  They’ve appeared on sitcoms such as “Friends”, “Yes Dear” and most recently “The New Adventures of Old Christine”.  Movie production companies continue to request Marty’s work for background set dressings because of the truly vintage look of his artwork.  Take a close look at “Wild Hogs” or “ Invincible” and you’ll see a Mummert Sign in the background. From a Black Eyed Peas music video to  Alton Brown’s “Good Eats” , Marty’s eclectic work nicely adorns any set.

Sticking to their diner theme the Food Network show, “Unwrapped”, featured Marty and his signs.  When he was asked if there is anything he would not like to paint, he exclaimed, “I don’t like peas.  I wouldn’t want to paint them!”

So as you can see, from kitchen décor to theater rooms…to restaurants and pubs, Mummert Signs offer a wide variety of signage to accommodate everyone’s taste and desire to create an atmosphere of fun and nostalgia.
